Terms of Use

1. Who we are

The website siftfox.com (the "Service") is operated by Katarzyna Górecka, with a registered place of business at Nowogrodzka 31, 00-511 Warszawa, Poland, tax identification number (NIP): 7412060624 (the "Operator", "we", "us"). You can reach us at fox@siftfox.com. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") also serve as the terms of providing services by electronic means required under Polish law of 18 July 2002 on providing services by electronic means.

2. What the Service is

SiftFox is a curated directory of software tools. Visitors can browse tool profiles, categories, comparisons and deals. Registered users can additionally boost tools, comment, claim tool profiles they are entitled to, submit tools for listing, and manage their maker profile. Some listings and profile data are created editorially by us; makers can claim and correct their own profiles free of charge.

Rankings on the Service are driven by user boosts and editorial curation. Sponsored placements are always labeled. Payment never influences a tool's position in a ranking.

3. Technical requirements

To use the Service you need a device with internet access and a modern web browser with cookies and JavaScript enabled. To create an account you need a working email address - sign-in works through one-time links and codes sent by email; we do not store passwords.

4. Accounts

An account is created the first time you sign in with a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to your mailbox secure; anyone with access to your email can access your SiftFox account. You may have one account. You can stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing fox@siftfox.com; deletion is free of charge.

5. User content and conduct

Comments, boosts, submitted tool descriptions and maker profile edits are your content. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content within the Service and in materials promoting the Service (for example a newsletter mentioning your comment). You confirm you hold the rights to what you post.

It is prohibited to post content that is unlawful, including:

- content infringing third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, personal rights); - spam, undisclosed advertising, link schemes or manipulated boosts (including boosts from multiple or automated accounts); - malware, phishing or content misleading users; - content that is defamatory, hateful or otherwise unlawful.

We may remove content that violates these Terms, withhold or remove boosts obtained in violation of them, and suspend or terminate accounts used to break the rules. Where required, we will state reasons and you may object by writing to fox@siftfox.com.

6. Listings, claims and accuracy

We list tools we consider useful, including profiles seeded by our editors on the basis of publicly available information. If you represent a listed tool, you may claim its profile free of charge. Claim verification is automatic when your work email matches the tool's domain, and manual otherwise. We may revoke a claim obtained by misrepresentation. Profile information is provided for general information only - always verify pricing and features with the tool's own website.

7. Paid services

Listing a tool in the free queue is free. We also offer paid services for makers, currently: fast-track review (USD 19), choosing a launch date (USD 39) and a labeled Featured slot in a category (USD 67 per month). Current prices are always shown on the Service; prices are gross amounts unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Featured slots renew monthly until cancelled, and can be cancelled with effect from the end of the paid period by emailing fox@siftfox.com.

Paid services concern the presentation of your tool and never its position in rankings. If we reject a fast-tracked submission for non-compliance with these Terms, we refund the fee.

8. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer (or a sole trader treated as a consumer under Polish law), you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. For paid services you expressly request us to perform immediately (such as fast-track review); you acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal is lost, and if you withdraw mid-performance you owe a proportionate part of the price. To withdraw, email fox@siftfox.com with your order details.

9. Complaints

Complaints about the Service can be sent to fox@siftfox.com. We respond within 14 days. A consumer may also use out-of-court dispute resolution, including the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr and the assistance of municipal consumer ombudsmen in Poland.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, the SiftFox name and fox logo are protected by law and belong to the Operator. Third-party names and logos shown on tool profiles belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; their appearance on SiftFox does not imply endorsement or partnership unless stated. Makers with a claimed and listed profile may use the "Sifted" badge on their own site free of charge.

11. Liability

We provide the Service with due care but on an "as available" basis - we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and may change, suspend or discontinue features. We are not a party to any transaction between you and a listed tool, and we are not liable for third-party tools, their websites, pricing or deals. Outbound links may contain tracking parameters, and some may be affiliate links, which never affects rankings. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including towards consumers.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms for valid reasons such as changes in law, new features or security. Registered users will be informed by email or an in-Service notice at least 14 days before changes take effect. If you do not accept the changes, stop using the Service and, if you have an account, request its deletion. Paid services already ordered are performed on the terms in force at the time of ordering.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Polish law. For consumers, this choice does not deprive you of protections granted by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Disputes are resolved by the competent common courts; for consumers, jurisdiction follows the general rules.
