what it is
Veilr is where that random video chat went after Omegle closed in 2023: one stranger at a time, choosing who you talk to is free, no coins to buy first. The Omegle people mean when they say Omegle — free, no account, launched on 25 March 2009 by an 18-year-old called Leif K-Brooks from Brattleboro, Vermont — was switched off on 8 November 2023. Omegle ran for fourteen years on one idea: no accounts. The same missing account is what ended it: without one, the service could keep neither a banned person out nor a child apart from an adult.
